Home Lamps Model overview Scurion 1300
Scurion® 1300

With an enormous light output of 1300 lumen, it shines as bright as a car headlight. It is based on the Cree MC-E multi chip LED, having a very high efficiency - more light for a given amount of power. Electronics is highly optimized for power output and high efficiency (up to 94 percent!).

The Scurion®-1300 is your best choice when you are looking for a headlamp for running / orienteering. Spot- and wide-angle-light merge almost seamlessly into each other. This proved to be comfortable in the wood!

In this closeup you can see the the MC-E LED. Four dies are used, but not driven to full power. Doing so improves efficiency, reliability and lifetime.

At a glance

  • Spot and wide angle LEDs with approx. 650 lm each (see info on lumen and how many watts...)
  • Wide angle LED is tilted for optimal working illumination distribution
  • Spot angle is wider than with 700 and 900 models (see images at simulator)
  • Programmable light settings - check our simulator!
  • Battery indicator and Li-Ion power management
  • Constant current control - constant brightness independent of battery state
  • Nonmagnetic - no magnetic switch disturbing compass measurements
  • Designed and made in Switzerland!

Battery Run time

You can expect the following run time from a four cell battery:

How to read this table: All Scurion® lamps have a focused spot and a wide angle room LED. You can combine those two arbitrarily - depending on your use. Numbers 0-4 indicate power levels off to maximum. For example, with wide angle on 4 and spot switched off, you get around 5.1 hours of run time.

Run time with a two cell battery:

Scurion® 1300 on lower power

When you need longer run times from your lamp (eg. for an expedition or very long trip), should you use the Scurion® 1300 or the Scurion® 700/900 for longer run time? Answer: You can program your Scurion® 1300 to use lower power settings for this application. Just set the max. level you use to 3 and you have three to four times the run time. For example, wide angle on 3 and spot on 2 is a very comfortable all-round setting with a run time of 11 hours. And of course you still have the possibility to power up briefly, should it be needed. Technically speaking, the efficiency of the white LEDs is increasing when you decrease the power. The same goes for the electronics. So the Scurion® 1300 gets even more efficient when you reduce the power setting, making it optimal also for long expeditions.
